Online, 04/03/2025, Social Media Team.- With a spirit of communion and commitment, the meeting of the Congregation’s Social Communications delegates—coming from various provinces and vice-provinces—was celebrated.
The opening of the gathering was marked by a deep and hope-filled message from the Prioress General, Sister Mariamma Paul, who encouraged the participants to embrace the challenges of today’s digital environment with creativity, discernment, and responsibility: “Social communication is a field of mission where we can bring the Gospel and our service of charity to modern society,” said the Prioress General, also recalling Pope Francis' teachings on the importance of being present on the “digital highways” as active witnesses of Christ.
Quoting the Dicastery for Communication’s document Towards Full Presence (2023), Sister Mariamma emphasized that the challenge is no longer whether to participate in the digital world, but how to do so in a meaningful, ethical, and committed way. In this regard, she stressed the need for continuous formation, professional content creation, and technical quality to communicate with truth, beauty, and depth.
During the meeting, the need to work as a network, to share resources and best practices, and to advance in media literacy and communal discernment in the face of rapid changes brought by artificial intelligence and Web 5.0 was strongly highlighted. A call to unity in diversity was also made: to listen, dialogue, and recognize one another in the richness of the cultures and languages within the Congregation.
“Dialogue creates a network of communion among us, strengthening our shared mission in the various countries where our charism gives life,” expressed the Prioress General.
Inspired by the words of Pope Francis, the Sisters wholeheartedly embraced the invitation to become “pilgrims of hope,” committed to a communication that includes, uplifts, and humanizes. This meeting was a valuable opportunity to renew a shared vision, strengthen congregational identity in the field of communication, and continue proclaiming the Gospel with boldness and hope at the heart of the digital world.
