The struggle for hope

Namur (Bélgica), 02/04/2025, Sr. Véronique Margron.- The Jubilee Year 2025, proclaimed by Pope Francis under the theme "Pilgrims of Hope", marks a special moment in the life of the Catholic Church. The Jubilee is a sign of reconciliation because it opens a "time of grace" (cf. 2 Cor 6:2) for personal conversion. This special time invites us to center our lives on God, to recognize his primacy and to turn to him.

At 1.30 p.m. on 1 February, the entrance hall of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Namur, Belgium, was filled with religious and consecrated persons on their way to the Aula Major. Sister Véronique Margron addressed the gathering on the Jubilee of Consecrated Life. She stressed the relationship between hope and love, which enables us to see reality as it is, as a place where God dwells in each life, until our last breath. It is a way of struggling against death and the gift of grace that God always offers. Hope that resists, that perseveres, because it is much easier to despair.  Hope is a real power to transform our own lives for and with others.
