Colombia, 02/12/2026, Sr. Blanca Aurora Hoyos.- On January 24, 2026, the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation celebrated the liturgical memorial of Marie Poussepin, “Social Apostle of Charity.” Her life was an example of holiness lived through work, family life, and everyday life, illuminating history with her love, her faith in Providence, and her service of charity.
May her legacy inspire us to be more faithful to our faith, living the charism of charity, communion, and holiness that she left us, for the glory of God and the service of the poorest. Some communities share their experience with us:
Marie Poussepin Parish – Cali
The El Paraíso community, together with the parishioners of Saint Anne Parish, under the guidance of Father Yubeimar Soto and the Sisters of the Presentation, organized a triduum of catechesis to highlight the memory, the heroicity of virtues, and the reputation for holiness of Blessed Marie Poussepin.
On January 24, the date of her liturgical memorial, they made a pilgrimage to Marie Poussepin Parish, where a special program was held with Eucharistic Adoration and a solemn Eucharistic celebration, praying to the Lord for her prompt canonization.
Sr. Luz Dary Sabogal Murillo, Our Lady of the Presentation Province.

“Having reserved nothing for myself, I possess nothing…”
This is how Marie Poussepin lived. She kept back neither security, nor time, nor talents. What she had—her charity, her work, her firm tenderness—she placed at the service of the most fragile. She did not accumulate titles or honors, but faces, names, and experiences woven in love and service. She reserved nothing for herself because she believed in a God who gives without measure. Her poverty was complete trust in the provident God. Her service was the Gospel lived. Marie teaches us that charity is incarnate theology: God becomes visible when hands serve, when bread is shared, and when life is offered without reserve.
Sr. Diana Lucía Rivera Murillo, Our Lady of the Presentation Province.
Missionary Center, Panama
This is how the Cerro Trema community of the Missionary Center celebrated in the chapel dedicated to Blessed Marie Poussepin, where her legacy of proclaiming the Gospel and serving in charity continues to be a leaven of change and transformation, responding to the needs of today’s world with love and compassion.
