Lima (Peru),04/03/2026, by the Sisters of the Community of Welcome.- In the context of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, on February 2, 2026, the 30th World Day of Consecrated Life was celebrated in Lima (Peru), a special occasion dedicated to giving thanks to God for the vocation and witness of consecrated men and women who serve the Church and society.

The main celebration took place at the Basílica de María Auxiliadora, located on Avenida Brasil, where numerous religious sisters, religious brothers, young people, and lay faithful gathered to participate in the Eucharist, presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio to Peru, Monsignor Paolo Rocco Gualtieri. This Day was a meaningful moment and a living testimony for young people discerning their vocation and wishing to consecrate their lives to the service of God. The Basilica was filled with color and vibrant expressions, reflecting the richness and diversity of the religious congregations that enrich the Church in Peru.

In his homily, the Apostolic Nuncio emphasized that consecrated life is a sign of hope and peace, encouraging the consecrated to persevere joyfully in their total self-giving and to remain a living presence of God’s love amid the country’s challenges. The communities of Callao also took part in the celebration, together with the Community of Welcome and the Community of Sainville from Cercado de Lima. The active participation of the senior sisters, who joined this jubilee Eucharist with enthusiasm and a deep spirit of communion, was especially meaningful. The World Day of Consecrated Life became a time of prayer, gratitude, and renewal of commitment, strengthening communion among the different communities and making visible the beauty of a life wholly dedicated to the service of the Gospel.
