Meeting of Young People in Formation of the Dominican Family in Mexico 2026

Tutelnango (Mexico), 03/10/206, Sr. Margarita Josefa López Velázquez.- From February 13 to 15, the annual meeting of young people in the formation stage of the Dominican Family of Mexico took place at the retreat house Ex-Hacienda Santo Domingo de Guzmán in Tultenango, located in El Oro, State of Mexico.

The meeting brought together 48 participants and was held under the theme “500 years building community,” commemorating the Jubilee of the five centuries since the arrival of the Dominican friars in Mexico. Participants experienced the gathering in a fraternal atmosphere, taking part in various planned activities such as: a prayer vigil, Eucharistic celebration, Liturgy of the Hours, sports activities, and moments of fellowship both among the participants and with the residents of nearby communities.

The following topics for reflection were also addressed: “Keys to Responsible Freedom,” presented by Fr. Rafael Colomé, OP, and “Guidelines for a Christian Anthropology,” given by Fr. Luis Javier Rubio, OP. On the afternoon of Sunday the 15th, the meeting concluded, having strengthened the fraternal bonds between the Dominican religious congregations and the friars.
