Canonical Visit of the General Government to Guadalupe

Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador, 07/09-31/2016, Srs. de Guadalupe.- On July 6th, we had the joy of welcoming our sisters from the General Government to the Provincial House for the canonical visit to our Province: Sr. María Escayola Coris, Superior General, Sr. Maria Leonor Charria Angulo, Sr. Blanca Aurora Marín, Sr. María Fabiola Duque, Sr. Diana Gisela Dolorita and Sr. Rosario Amelia Garcés, who was with us just for a few days for her canonical visit to the provincial secretariat, then, she traveled to Colombia.

Bogotá & Santafé: Day on Mission

Bogotá (Colombia),06/18/2016, Sr. Matilde Beltrán.- The Provinces of Santafé and Bogota jointly celebrated a day on Mission, presided over by Sr. Berta Graciela Acero and Sr. Fanny Yolanda Barrantes. Around one hundred fifty sisters came together to give thanks and to put into the hands of God, our service of charity, in the different places of our mission.

Mexico, 07/25/2016, Sr. Maria Escayola, Superior General.- Dear Sisters, On the feast of St. James, the apostle, we have received the sad news about the death of Sr. María Magdalena Herrera Palacios. She passed away this morning suddenly in an accident at Bogota.

Canonical Visit of the General Government to USA

Digthon (USA), 07/05/2016, Vice-Province USA.- The Canonical Visit of the General Government (06/15/2016 - 07/04/2016) to the USA structure was certainly filled with blessings for everyone. The presence of Sr. María Escayola, Sr. Mariamma Paul and Sr. Rosario Garcés was a time not only of sharing and listening, but also an opportunity to experience the Congregation and to renew ourselves. We welcome them first at our Vice Provincial House in Dighton, where we had a gathering and prayer together, as well as the Celebration of the Jubilees of Religious Profession of five of our sisters.

India: Jubilee, celebration of rejoicing

Bangalore (India), 06/05/2016, Sr. Teresa.- Jubilee is a celebration of rejoicing because God has blessed us with immense graces during the past 800 years of life as Dominicans. It is a time of sharing of our joy as a family and a time to thank God for His constant companionship with the order in the past years. So as a family we gathered in our Provincial house on the 4th of June 2016, to celebrate this day of joy.

France: The Spiritual Book Award of 2016 was given to Sr. Anne Lécu

Paris (France), 06/23/2016, Redaction.- The Spiritual Book Award was given by Panorama - La Procure to Sr. Anne Lécu of the Province of France for her book Tu as couvert ma honte (You Have Covered My Shame) from Cerf Editions. Sr. Anne exerce la médecine en prison. She regularly publishes meditations on the Internet site Signe dans la Bible et and is the author of Des larmes and Marcher vers l’innocence published by Cerf.

Spain: Bicentenarial of Dorotea de Chopitea

Barcelona (Spain), 06/05/2016, Sr. Gemma Morató.- Last June 4, feast of the Sacred Heart, some sisters participated in the Eucharistic Celebration in the Church of Tibidabo in Barcelona. Although the Mass was centered on the feast of the Sacred Heart, it also spoke of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Venerable Dorotea de Chopitea, which was to be celebrated on the following day. A crowded celebration with procession and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament walked the streets in the city of Barcelona. A beautiful moment of communion with so many people who live, suffer and / or do not know the love of God.
